“All’ombra della Serenissima. Musiche veneziane tra il XVII e il XVIII secolo” (In the shadow of the Serenissima. Venetian music between the 17th and 18th centuries) will be held in the Sale Apollinee of La Fenice Opera House on January 11 and 12, 2025, an enchanting concert celebrating the brilliance of Venetian music from the Baroque era. Featuring works by Venetian masters such as Vivaldi, Strozzi, and Galuppi, this program highlights the city’s rich musical heritage through a collection of passionate arias, expressive sonatas, and poignant laments.
In collaboration with Musikàmera, the program includes:
- Johann Adolf Hasse: Believe or Love in Hope
- Baldassare Galuppi: Sonata in G major op. 2 no. 5 (harpsichord)
- Barbara Strozzi: L’Eraclito amoroso and Diporti di Euterpe
- Antonio Vivaldi: Piango, gemo, sospiro RV 675
- Benedetto Marcello: Sonata VI op. 2 no. 6 (cello & basso continuo)
- Benedetto Ferrari: Poetry of the Dawn (Ardo misera sì)

- Vivica Genaux, celebrated mezzo-soprano, renowned for her commanding stage presence and virtuosic interpretations of Baroque and bel canto repertoire.
- Francesco Galligioni, an acclaimed cellist specializing in historically informed performance, masterfully exploring the expressive depths of Baroque music.
