Establish in 2017, “The Venice Glass Week” is an international festival celebrating the rich tradition of glass art, an artistic and economic activity for which Venice has been renowned for over 1,000 years. Following the excellent success of the 2023 edition, the eighth edition of “The Venice Glass Week”, with the hashtag-title #AWorldOfGlass, takes place from 14 to 22 September 2024. This year’s festival promises an exciting program of exhibitions, guided tours, workshops, demonstrations, conferences, family activities, and more.
Since its inception, the number of visitors has steadily increased, surpassing 150,000 attendees in 2023. Notably, the percentage of recurring visitors who come to the Lagoon specifically for the festival continues to grow. For international fans of artistic glass, design, and collecting, as well as casual enthusiasts looking to experience Venice at a vibrant and lively time, “The Venice Glass Week” has become an unmissable event.
“The Venice Glass Week” is a non-profit initiative organized and promoted by a Committee comprising the Municipality of Venice and leading Venetian cultural institutions with extensive expertise in the glass sector: Fondazione Musei Civici di Venezia, Fondazione Giorgio Cini, and Istituto Veneto di Scienze, Lettere ed Arti. Additionally, the Promovetro Murano Consortium, which protects the authenticity of Murano glass production and manages the Vetro Artistico® Murano brand of the Veneto Region, is a key collaborator.
