On the occasion of “VeneziainDanza 2024”, the Teatro Malibran will host three extraordinary evenings of dance, featuring performances from renowned international and Italian companies.
The first event on Sunday, 17 November at 17:00 offers a Soirée with the soloists of the Gaertnerplatztheater from Munich, under the direction of Karl Alfred Schreiner. The program includes excerpts from three major works: MINUTEMADE, a vibrant piece by Marco da Silva Ferreira, blending urban and Portuguese folk dance with contemporary rhythms; TROIA, choreographed by Andonis Foniadakis, which explores the Trojan War with stunning, dynamic tableaux; and Schreiner’s own interpretation of PEER GYNT, set to Edvard Grieg’s iconic music, bringing the mystical Norwegian landscapes and themes of self-discovery to life.
On Saturday, 23 November at 20:00, the Compagnia Tocnadanza Venezia presents the World Premiere of “Stabat Passio”, choreographed by Michela Barasciutti. Set to music by Pergolesi, Mozart, Pärt, and Bach, the performance delves into the profound relationship between passion and compassion, exploring the deep emotional connections that define our humanity.
Finally, on Saturday, 30 November at 20:00, the MM Contemporary Dance Company takes the stage with BOLERO and BALLADE. Michele Merola’s version of Bolero is a metaphor for human existence, while Ballade, choreographed by Mauro Bigonzetti, offers a nostalgic homage to the 1980s, capturing the essence of an era through music by artists like Nick Cave, Leonard Cohen, Arvo Pärt, Prince, Frank Zappa and Nina Simone.
These performances promise to captivate dance lovers with their emotional depth and artistic brilliance.
