The Giorgio Cini Foundation in Venice has opened its new exhibition center, Rooms of Photography, with the inaugural exhibition “Ugo Mulas. Photographic Operation“. The exhibition is produced in collaboration with the Mulas Archive and curated by Denis Curti and Alberto Salvadori. It showcases over 300 images, including previously unseen works, as well as documents, books, publications, and films, covering Mulas’ diverse fields of interest, from theater to fashion, architecture, and landscapes.
Mulas, a self-taught photographer, was known for his critical account of society and his ability to delve into different themes. The Stanze della Fotografia (Rooms of Photography) is a continuation of the path started at the Casa dei Tre Oci and brings photography to the Boarding School on the Island of San Giorgio Maggiore. The exhibition is open until August 6, 2023, and offers visitors a chance to explore the unique vision of Ugo Mulas, one of the most important figures in international photography after World War II.
