On the occasion of the 20th Anniversary of the festival “Jazznostop” Franco D’Andrea and Luca Bragalini hold the concert “The meaning of the blues” in the Sale Apollinee of La Fenice Theater on April 15, 2023.

A lecture-concert in which a musicologist and one of the highest figures in European jazz history reveal how infinite the nuances of the blues can be.  Music played live, images, rare documents and words punctuate a journey that takes the audience between Mississippi and Central Europe, between D’Andrea’s and Gershwin’s productions, between classical music and African-American folklore, between TV theme songs and the pages of Thelonious Monk.
