The “Salone dell’Alto Artigianato Italiano” returns to Venice for its second edition from Thursday, 3 October to Sunday, 6 October 2024. This unique event celebrates the rich heritage of Italian art and craftsmanship, taking place in Venice, a city renowned for its ancient trades and masterful artisanship passed down through the centuries.
The inaugural edition, held in 2023, attracted 15,000 visitors over four days and was marked by extensive national and international promotion, featuring testimonials, sustainability awards, institutional events, workshops, and collateral activities. This year’s event promises to build on that success, offering an even more vibrant showcase of Italian craftsmanship.
Visitors will have the opportunity to explore and purchase exceptional creations across a wide range of sectors, including ceramics, fine textiles, blown glass, jewelry, and furniture. The Salone transforms Venice, once the epicenter of naval art and seamanship of the Serenissima, into a premier venue for discovering high-quality, originally designed artifacts. It also provides a rare chance to engage directly with artisans, learn their stories, and understand the creative processes behind each piece.
The “Salone dell’Alto Artigianato Italiano” is promoted by the Municipality of Venice and organized by Vela S.p.a., as part of the “Venice and its lagoon: management and enhancement of tourist flows” project. This initiative is financed by the Ministry of Tourism to enhance municipalities with a strong tourist-cultural vocation, particularly those with UNESCO-recognized world heritage sites. This event not only celebrates Italian craftsmanship but also reinforces Venice’s position as a global cultural and artistic hub.
