Preceded by a sumptuous historical procession that is the central moment of the entire event, the 68th edition of the Regatta of the Ancient Maritime Republics will take place in Venice, Friday, June 2 and Saturday, June 3, 2023.
The program of the event includes a series of events culminating on Saturday, June 3, with the rowing challenge in St. Mark’s Basin, over the distance of two thousand meters, between the four crews representing each of the Republics: Pisa, Venice, Amalfi and Genoa. Live television coverage on Rai 2 is scheduled from 5:10 p.m.
The planned schedule is as follows, but may be subject to change:
Friday, June 2
– 5 p.m.,Historical Procession: parade of costumed delegations from Pisa, Amalfi, Genoa, Venice – from St. Mark’s Square along the Riva degli Schiavoni and up to Arsenale
– 6:30 p.m. Female/mixed crews regatta (1000-meter course)
– 7:30 p.m. Female/Mixed crews regatta awards ceremony and Palio Repubbliche Marinare crews presentation ceremony.
Saturday, June 3
– 6 p.m., St. Mark’s Basin: 68th Regatta of the Ancient Italian Maritime Republics (distance 2,000 meters)
