Rachel Z and Omar Hakim Trio

As part of the Venice Jazz Festival, the Rachel Z and Omar Hakim Trio will perform in the Sale Apollinee of La Fenice Opera House on Sunday, November 3, 2024. This concert is part of their Sensual Tour, featuring Rachel Z on piano, Omar Hakim on drums, and Jonathan Toscano on double bass.

Both Rachel Z and Omar Hakim are renowned for their versatility, mastering a wide range of musical styles, from jazz and fusion to pop. Rachel Z has collaborated with legends like Peter Gabriel, Wayne Shorter, Stanley Clarke, Marcus Miller, and Al Di Meola, and has released 13 well-regarded albums as a bandleader. Her artistry brings a unique blend of technical skill and emotional depth to every performance. Omar Hakim, famously the drummer for Weather Report, has worked with Miles Davis, George Benson, John Scofield, and an array of global stars including Sting, David Bowie, Madonna, and Celine Dion. His illustrious career bridges both jazz and popular music, making him one of the most sought-after session musicians in the world.

Completing the trio is Jonathan Toscano, an accomplished double bassist who is a fixture of the vibrant New York jazz scene. Toscano has performed with musicians such as Gregoire Maret, Jeremy Pelt, George Garzone, and many others, adding depth and rhythm to the group’s intricate sound.

This concert promises to be an unforgettable evening of genre-defying music, blending virtuosic talent with infectious rhythms and grooves.
