Torcello Island, the cradle of the entire Venetian civilization: few inhabitants, only one square, some hotels and restaurants, and two splendid churches. Torcello is striking for its atmosphere of ancient and mysterious. Today it is a decadent island, but it retains a unique charm. The most characteristic aspect of the refined Byzantine architecture of Torcello are the gold mosaics.

Inspired by the beautiful mosaics we create the glass panel “Torcello” using the famous mosaic technique. We follow the same rigorous process: first cutting and then composing. Small glass tiles which can have different sizes, are hand cut with special tools, then joined together in order to create a sort of bright painting of colored glass.

The complexity of this technique only allows the creation of flat surfaces, even if Torcello thanks to the fusion of the glass creates an artistic effect that makes it seem alive, fluid and dynamic. Also for this pattern, a modular design allows to satisfy different and ambitious needs of any customer or interior designer.

Each pattern is customizable both in terms of dimensions and colors. With this versatility we can offer multiple modular solutions for interior decoration such as wall or surface coverings or for backlighting systems.

In handicraft production, every glass object may be slightly different in shape, color and size from the image below. Any small differences and irregularities in design, shape and color, as well as small air bubbles, are not flaws, but a sign of our products quality.
