Open to the public until 26 November 2023, the Fondazione dell’Albero d’Oro presents the photographic exhibition “Nikos Aliagas. Regards Vénitiens” in the spaces of Palazzo Vendramin Grimani.
Visitors will have the opportunity to admire for a few more months the more than 150 shots of Greek-born French photographer Nikos Aliagas, who sought and succeeded in capturing an unseen Venice, absorbed in its slow and generous everyday life.
Nikos Aliagas walked the Venetian calli to meet the very people who usually avoid glances and lenses: the inhabitants. His camera traveled through the extraordinary everyday life of Venice and its calli, making sure that the images told the stories of those who live and make these places come alive. Aliagas’ photographs are strictly black and white: the artist has explored contrasts, backlighting, and movement within shots in which straight and curved lines marry on a face or at the corner of a calle.
