In collaboration with the cultural association “Musikàmera“, two concerts by Lea Desandre and Thomas Dunford will be held in the Sale Apollinee of La Fenice Theater on February 8 and 9, 2023.
Italian-French mezzo-soprano Lea Desandre entered William Christie’s prestigious Le Jardin des Voix Academy at the age of 20. In 2017 she was nominated Vocal Discovery at the Victoires de la Musique Classique Awards. An acclaimed performer of chamber music as well, she appears regularly with lutenist Thomas Dunford and his ensemble Jupiter. We recall collaborations with Sir John Eliot Gardiner, Louis Langrée, Raphaël Pichon, Jordi Savall, Emmanuelle Haïm, Enrique Mazzola, and Leonardo García Alarcón.
Called the “Eric Clapton of the lute” by BBC magazine, Parisian Thomas Dunford collaborates regularly with renowned ensembles. He performs in concert at Carnegie Hall and the Frick Collection in New York, Wigmore Hall in London, the Kennedy Center in Washington, the Palau de la Musica in Barcelona, and participates both as a soloist and in ensembles at Europe’s most prestigious festivals.
