The Palazzo Cini Gallery reopens to the public with the extraordinary dossier exhibition “Joseph Beuys: Fine-limbed” dedicated to one of the most important artists of the 20th century. The German painter, sculptor, performer and theorist Joseph Beuys was one of the most influential and emblematic multifaceted artists of the second half of the twentieth century and one of the few who was truly capable of bringing art and life together. Beuys considered art to be the cure to society’s ills: a positive and healing force capable of awakening individual creativity, activating political awareness and stimulating social change.
Taking its name from the main work on display “Backrest for a Fine-Limbed Person (Hare-Type)” of the 20th Century AD, the exhibition will present a selection of about 40 works by this master of conceptual art, whose 100th birthday was celebrated in 2021. Curated by Luca Massimo Barbero, director of the Institute of Art History of the Giorgio Cini Foundation and realized in collaboration with Thaddaeus Ropac Gallery, the exhibition will be open until October 2, 2022, every day except Tuesdays, thus providing the public with the opportunity to admire the rare works on display. With its permanent collections, the Gallery will remain open until November 21, 2022.
