Ascension by Huong Dodinh
an exhibition at Correr Museum
Huong Dodinh

As part of MUVE Contemporaneo 2022 and curated by Dr. Amin Jaffer and Hervé Mikaeloff, the Museo Correr hosts “Ascension“, the first exhibition in Italy by Huong Dodinh, Vietnamese by origin, Parisian by adoption.

The artist exhibits her site-specific work in the Sala delle Quattro Porte, one of the monumental rooms of the Museo Correr. This room has original works and objects dating from the fifteenth, sixteenth and seventeenth centuries. For the past eight years, this space has exclusively hosted exhibitions of important female artists.

Taking possession of the space, conceiving and designing a series of works specifically created for the event, the exhibition welcomes the visitor inside fourteen elongated panels creating a mystical atmosphere that leads them to perceive the world and inner emotions of the artist. The silent audience is a fascinated witness. “Ascension” is like an inner journey of inner initiation.

With the support of Nicoletta Fiorucci and Pace Gallery, in collaboration with CMS Collection, the exhibition Ascension is open to the public until November 6, 2022.
