As an oboist, Heinz Holliger has opened up new expressive worlds for his instrument and has greatly expanded the limits of playability. He has discovered lost composers, invented new playing techniques, and is unmistakable in his sound. As an uncompromising avant-garde composer, he is one of the most influential of his generation. Together with the cellist of the Tonhalle Orchestrer of Zurich Anita Leuzinger and the chamber music professor of the Academy of Music in Basel Anton Kernjak, the Swiss trio will perform two concerts at the La Fenice theater.
The Holliger Leuzinger Kernjak Trio’s program includes:
- Robert Schumann, Six Studies in Canon Form, Op. 56
- Robert Schumann, Three Romances for Oboe and Piano, Op. 94 (1849)
- Heinz Holliger, Romancendres for cello and piano
- Ludwig van Beethoven, Trio in B flat major, op. 11 Gassenhauer
