As part of the “Venice Jazz Festival Fall Edition”, the Eleonora Strino Trio will perform a highly anticipated concert on November 2, 2024, at the Auditorium Lo Squero, Fondazione Giorgio Cini, located on the Isola di San Giorgio Maggiore.
The trio features Eleonora Strino on guitar and vocals, Giulio Corini on double bass, and Zeno De Rossi on drums. Eleonora Strino is hailed as one of the most exciting young talents in the international jazz scene. In recognition of her rising prominence, “Jazz Guitar Today” featured her on the cover of its February 2020 issue, following in the footsteps of legendary guitarists such as Peter Bernstein, Kurt Rosenwinkel, and John Scofield.
After recording her debut album as a bandleader with jazz legends Joey Baron and Greg Cohen, Strino continues to build her impressive career. She leads her trio in Italy, backed by an eclectic and sophisticated rhythm section composed of Zeno De Rossi and Giulio Corini. The trio’s repertoire is an adventurous mix, ranging from jazz tradition standards and virtuosic bebop pieces to original compositions that reveal Strino’s Neapolitan roots. The trio also offers inventive reinterpretations of non-jazz pieces, including “Il Postino” by Louis Bakalov and the famous Argentine tango “Alfonsina y el Mar”.
This concert promises to be a captivating journey through a variety of musical styles, all delivered with the artistry and grace that make Eleonora Strino one of jazz’s rising stars.
