On the occasion of “Venezia in Danza” curated by artistic director Michela Barasciutti, “Eko Dance Project” will be staged at the Malibran Theater on Sunday, Nov. 27.

Under the guidance of Pompea Santoro, the show presents an evening in which the theme of love and beauty are the focus of the choreography. Above all, the first part brings to the stage a profane love in the most human sense of the term, a love born out of the suffering of a young teenage girl and becoming addicted and destructive that shares nothing with archetypal sacred love but tragically reflects a decadent and unempathetic humanity.

The program of “Eko Dance Project” includes:

  • Excerpts from “Sleeping Beauty” with choreography by Mats Ek, music Piotr Tchaikovsky
  • Excerpts from “Messiah” with choreography by Paolo Mohovich, music by Georg Friedrich Haendel
