On June 11, 2023, the celebrated pianist Angela Hewitt will grace the stage of the Teatro La Fenice, in collaboration with the cultural association “Musikàmera”. The program of the evening will feature a selection of compositions by Johann Sebastian Bach, one of the most celebrated and influential composers in Western music history.
Angela Hewitt is a Canadian pianist renowned for her virtuosity and interpretations of Bach’s keyboard works. She has recorded numerous award-winning albums of Bach’s music, including the complete Well-Tempered Clavier and Goldberg Variations. In addition to her dedication to Bach, Hewitt has also performed and recorded works by other composers such as Beethoven, Chopin, and Ravel.
Hewitt began playing the piano at an early age and went on to study at the Royal Conservatory of Music in Toronto and later at the University of Ottawa. She has won numerous awards and accolades throughout her career, including the Order of Canada, one of the country’s highest honors. Hewitt’s performances are renowned for their technical precision and emotional depth, and her upcoming concert at the Teatro La Fenice promises to be a truly memorable evening of music.
The evening’s program includes: Toccata, BWV 911 – French Suite No 5, BWV 816 – Chromatic Fantasia and Fugue, BWV 903 – French Overture, Bwv 831 – Italian Concert, BWV 971.
