Alpesh Chauhan is a British conductor known for his dynamic and expressive performances. Born in Birmingham, Chauhan studied at the Royal Northern College of Music before becoming the Leverhulme Conducting Fellow at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland. Since then, he has conducted orchestras all over the world, including the BBC Philharmonic, the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra, and the Royal Scottish National Orchestra.

Chauhan’s conducting style is characterized by a keen attention to detail and a deep understanding of the emotional core of the music. He has a particular affinity for the works of Beethoven, and his performances of the composer’s symphonies have received critical acclaim.

The concert at the Malibran theater on June 9 and 10, 2023, is a chance to experience Chauhan’s interpretation of two seminal works of classical music. The program begins with “Rendering“, a piece by Italian composer Luciano Berio based on Schubert’s unfinished Symphony No. 10. Chauhan’s interpretation promises to bring out the full range of emotions in Berio’s reworking of Schubert’s original.
