From May 9 to 11, 2025, the Goldoni Theatre presents Ancora Tempesta (Storm Still) by Peter Handke, a Nobel Prize-winning playwright whose work continues to provoke and inspire. Directed by Fabrizio Arcuri, with dramaturgy by Fabrizio Sinisi, this production is part of a special project honoring Handke’s literary legacy.
The title, echoing Shakespeare’s King Lear (“The storm is still raging”), sets the tone for this epic and introspective drama. Handke, now in his later years, stages an extraordinary dialogue with his ancestors—Slovenian Carinthians—imagining them as younger than himself.
