Punta della Dogana presents the captivating world of “Pierre Huyghe.Liminal”, an exhibition that challenges our perceptions of reality and blurs the boundaries between the human and the nonhuman. Conceived by Pierre Huyghe in collaboration with curator Anne Stenne, the exhibition features a captivating mix of new creations by the artist alongside works from the past decade, sourced notably from the Pinault Collection.
Huyghe’s artistic practice is characterized by a fascination with speculative fictions and alternative forms of the world. He transforms Punta della Dogana into a dynamic and ever-evolving space where human and nonhuman entities coexist in a state of flux. Here, subjectivities are formed through a continuous process of learning, transformation, and hybridization, amplified by the flow of information captured from both perceptible and imperceptible events.
“Liminal” invites visitors to question their own perception of reality as they navigate through an unpredictable ritual of new possibilities. Huyghe challenges us to embrace perspectives beyond the human, encouraging us to become strangers to ourselves and explore the inhuman aspects of existence.
Supported by Bottega Veneta, the exhibition features works such as “Idiom”, for which clothing is created by Bottega Veneta’s creative director, Matthieu Blazy, in collaboration with the artist. Following its presentation at Punta della Dogana, “Pierre Huyghe.Liminal” will travel to the Leeum Museum of Art in Seoul in February 2025, further extending its impact on audiences around the world.
