House of The Human Safety Net

The House of the Human Safety Net at the Procuratie Vecchie initiates this season a series of enlightening events that delve deep into the core insights of the interactive exhibition “A World of Potential“. These gatherings aim to explore the essence of human potential and emphasize everyone’s right to nurture and express it. All events grant free access to the third floor of the Procuratie Vecchie for a chance to engage with the interactive exhibition.

Among these engaging sessions, the Venice Cello Ensemble takes center stage on Sunday, January 14, 2024. Led by Maestro Angelo Zanin, the ensemble, comprising the finest students of his cello school, promises a mesmerizing journey through centuries of music. They’ll traverse a diverse range of musical landscapes, spanning from the 1600s to contemporary times. Specially crafted transcriptions for this ensemble, inspired by the celebrated 12 Cellists of the Berliner Philharmoniker, ensure a captivating performance.

Bringing the festival to a grand conclusion on Sunday, February 11, 2024, is the Conservatory’s School of Jazz with their presentation, “Route 66 – A Jazz Journey from East to West Coast“. Under the guidance of Maestro Matteo Alfonso, a jazz quartet comprising vocals, guitar, drums, and Hammond organ will serenade the audience. Their repertoire, spanning Jazz to Soul, will echo melodies from the American Song Book, celebrating the carnival spirit with rhythmic euphoria and soulful tunes.
