Emma Mardegan is a talented young ballerina who has captured the attention of worldwide dance enthusiasts with her exceptional technique, artistry, and musicality. Born in Venice, Italy, Emma started her ballet journey at the age of 5, attending classes at a Venetian school. At the age of 13, she moved on to the professional dance school “Il Balletto” in Castelfranco Veneto, about 50 km away from Venice, to pursue her dream of becoming a ballerina, under the expert guidance of Susanna Plaino.
Emma’s hard work and dedication paid off as she went on to win numerous first prizes and scholarships at various competitions, including the Young Talents Festival in Lecco, “Promesse in scena” competition in Rome, Rieti Danza Festival, Roma Dance Contest, Youth America Grand Prix in Barcelona, and Italian Dance Awards in Rome. In 2016, she was chosen for the Rai Uno show “Prodigi“, where she won first place in the dance category. Her performances have garnered praise from industry experts, with dance star and director of the Rome Opera, Eleonora Abbagnato, saying, “I would take her immediately in the corps de ballet of the Rome Opera” or, seeing her perform, entrepreneur Vittoria Cappelli said, “She is not simply a talented dancer, this girl is a true artist“.
In 2019, Emma made her debut as prima ballerina of the Youth Company in the Dutch National Ballet, one of the most prestigious companies in the world. In 2021, she starred in the modern ballet “Beach Oddysey“, and in 2023 in “Swan Lake” by the Dutch National Ballet.
Emma’s exceptional talent, passion, and hard work have positioned her as a rising star in the ballet world, with some even predicting that she may soon become an étoile.
