GAD Giudecca Art District presents the new program of exhibitions and events titled “Humanabilia, from Mirabilis to Téchne” that take place in parallel with the 59th edition of the Venice Art Biennale, until the end of 2022.
The cultural proposal is a collection of stories through images from various parts of the world, a composite form of visual narration, a choral tale, a collective travel diary to discover (or rediscover) landscapes of local imagery and other “wonders” at the time of globalization.
Among the proposals of several international curators and the works of over 50 artists stand out:
- “SILK” – curated by Alfons Hug, promoted by the Goethe Institute with works by artists Faig Ahmed, Olaf Nicolai, Nino Kvrivishvili, Araks Sahakyan and Lisa Batacchi.
- “Terra Nova: A Look at the Present and the Future” – curated by Rhéal Olivier Lanthier and François St-Jacques, supported by Canadian gallery Art Mur with works by artists Robbie Cornelissen, Jannick Deslauriers, Eddy Firmin, Karine Giboulo, Jessica Houston, Guillaume Lachapelle and Nadia Myre.
- Space One – curated by Valentina Gioia Levy and Naima Morelli, support from the ArtSociates Foundation, featuring work by Indonesian artist Eddy Susanto.
- “The Gate of Turan” – curated by Janet Rady, featuring an immersive installation by artist Firouz Farman-Farmaian.
Location: Giudecca, Venice
Schedule: until the end of 2022
