Venice pays homage to the painter, photographer and director who died in January 2022 Paolo Gioli, with an exhibition that proposes his Venetian beginnings in the Sixties.
Galleria in Corte, a new exhibition space dedicated to contemporary art in Venice, proposes until September 17, 2022 the exhibition “Paolo Gioli. Gli anni di Venezia (1960 – 1969)“, curated by Nico Stringa, dedicated to the first creative experiences of the important and versatile artist.
The exhibition stems from the desire of friends and collectors to organize an anthology of pictorial and graphic works of the future film-maker and photographer, making available drawings and paintings made during the sixties in the lagoon, works that still today do not cease to enchant and amaze.
Photographs, films and videos are present in major international public collections, including: the Harvard Film Archive, the Centre Pompidou in Paris, the Art Institute of Chicago, the MoMA in New York.
