Marco Gemmani is a choir director and composer, graduated in violin, composition and choral conducting at the Bologna Conservatory. In March 2000 he was appointed by the Patriarch of Venice Master of the Chapel of the Basilica of San Marco.
After teaching in various musical institutions, he is also professor of Choir Conducting and Choral Composition at the Benedetto Marcello Conservatory in Venice. Composer, conductor, musicologist, researcher, music editor, reviewer and author of numerous transcriptions of unpublished music, he has been carrying out extensive studies in the field of ancient vocal polyphony for some time. As director, he records CDs and brings the Marciana Chapel to perform in prestigious European venues.
Marco Gemmani is the conductor of the traditional Christmas concert at St. Mark’s Cathedral.
